A Seattle bridal shop that shows you eight gowns, not eighty.
One boutique. One address on N 85th Street. Since 1997.
I Do Bridal sells designer wedding dresses in Seattle from a curated selection, fitted in person during a private appointment. There is no online checkout and no rental rail. You come to the salon, you tell a stylist about the day, the venue and what you already know you hate, and she pulls the gowns worth zipping you into.
Most brides who arrive with a Pinterest board of forty dresses leave having chosen something that was not on it. That is normal. A photo of a gown on a model tells you almost nothing about how silk crepe sits on your hips or how heavy a mikado skirt feels after the second hour. The mirror answers that in about four minutes.
Wedding dress shopping in Seattle has moved a long way toward websites and warehouse-sized showrooms since this shop opened. We stayed small on purpose. Small means the stylist has seen every gown on the floor on a real body and can tell you which one runs short in the torso before you try it.

First appointment. Most designer gowns are made to order, and production commonly runs several months. Start here if you can, not eight weeks out.
- 8–6Months out
Gown ordered. Measurements taken in the salon, size decided against the designer's chart, not the size you wear in jeans.
- 6–3Months out
The gown is being made. Pick the veil now, with the gown's fabric swatch or the sample on, so the ivories match.
- 3–1Months out
Gown arrives. Alterations fittings begin. Bring the real shoes and the real undergarments. The hem gets decided on them.

Steamed, bagged and collected. Nothing new gets tried on in the last fortnight. Nothing.
MOD 04 / Styling appointment
The bridal appointment in Seattle that starts with a conversation.
The personalized styling appointment is the thing we actually sell. The gown comes out of it. A bridal stylist in Seattle who has pinned a few thousand side seams can usually tell from your venue and your first two sentences whether you are an A-line or a column bride. She will still let you try the ball gown. Everyone should try one ball gown.

The conversation
Ten minutes, seated. The date, the venue, indoors or out, how long the aisle is, what you have already tried and what you refuse to wear. We ask about the budget plainly because it changes which designers we pull from.

The pull
The stylist goes to the rail and comes back with roughly six to ten gowns. Usually one is a deliberate wild card, a silhouette you said you would never wear. It wins more often than you would think.

The try-on
Samples are clipped and pinned to show how the gown will sit when it is made in your size. You stand on the platform, you walk, you sit down. A gown you cannot sit in is a gown you will be taking off by nine o'clock.

The decision
Nobody is rushed into it. If it is not there today, it is not there, and we say so. If it is, we go through the price for that gown in that size with those changes, written down before anything is signed.

The order
Measurements taken, size chosen against the designer's chart, order placed with the designer. We give you the designer's stated production window and tell you plainly that it is theirs, not ours to promise.

The year this Seattle bridal boutique opened on N 85th Street. The shop has kept its doors open through every shift in how brides buy, including the one where half of them started buying online. That is the proof we have, and it is a long one.

Silk crepe shows everything underneath it. Tulle forgives.
Know which one you are choosing before you fall for it on a hanger. This is the table a stylist runs through in her head every time she pulls a gown.

MOD 07 / Refusals
Four things this shop will not do
- Quote a gown price across a phone line. The gown, the size and the changes decide it, and none of those are known until you are standing in the salon.
- Sell a sample off the rail to close a sale when a made-to-order gown in your size is the right answer.
- Promise a delivery date on a designer's behalf. We pass on their stated window and chase it; we do not invent one.
- Book two brides into the same stylist's hour.
MOD 08 / Questions brides ask
Can you tell me what a gown costs before I come in?
No. Every gown is priced per gown, by designer, size and fabric. We confirm it in the salon, written down, before you commit.
I have four months. Is that too late?
It is tight, not hopeless. Tell us the date when you book so the stylist pulls gowns with realistic lead times first. Some brides at this stage are better served by a column or sheath with less construction.
How many people should I bring?
Two guests is a good number. Six opinions in a fitting room is how brides leave with nothing.
Who is this shop not for?
If you want to browse hundreds of gowns alone, or need a dress off the rail for next weekend, a large showroom or a ready-to-wear store will suit you better. We will tell you that on the phone.
